The Wetumpka Public Library has a reference section with items of local historical and genealogical interest.  It contains all of the Alabama Heritage County books that have been printed; new county books are added to the collection as they become available.

The library carries subscriptions to over 30 periodicals as well as the Wetumpka Herald, The Montgomery Advertiser and the Wall Street Journal.  Bound copies of the Wetumpka Herald from 1975 to present are also available.
