Christmas on the Coosa

On the second Saturday in December thousands of people journey to Wetumpka, Alabama, located 10 miles north of Montgomery, Al on U.S. 21/231.  Called the “City of Natural Beauty” Wetumpka is a quaint, historic town nestled along the banks of the Coosa River and is home to the annual Christmas on the Coosa celebration.  The event features activities and events for the whole family.

The day-long Christmas on the Coosa celebration features a quilt and car show, children’s character breakfast, entertainment for children and a show case for local talent.  The annual street parade features over 100 entries and passes along the area for arts & crafts vendors. The city’s community band conducts a concert, followed by a boat parade featuring a ski-in by Santa and the evening ends with a grand fireworks finale.
